Self-absorption is a natural tendency in human beings.
Events unfold, life has its challenges, times are rough. To encounter challenge, disappointment, loss, illness and hardship is integral to life.
From time to time, even the most centered among us become self-absorbed. “Why is this happening to me?”
In some cases, what happens is tragic. In others, sad, inconvenient, painful, embarrassing, unwanted, unwarranted, unfortunate…
At other times what happens is joyful, exciting, delightful, deserving of praise and reward.
In my experience, life has its highs and lows. Some remarkably high, others very, very low. Regardless, what really matters is not so much what happens, but rather, what I do about it.
Now is the time to stand up, dust off, accept life as it is, make a plan and take action. You never know what lurks around the next corner. But, if you fail to move your body forward until you get there and peer around it to see what’s up, you’ll never know.
Opportunity is yours to create. Get moving. Take action. Do.
